Low-cut, lace up men's shoe perfect for weekend and work wear. Made in South Africa designed with barefoot principles - zero-drop sole, 7mm TPR sole and wide toe box, made from full-grain chestnut brown leather. Comfortable, functional and stylish.

Like any leather footwear, the shoes require some wearing time to soften completely, especially around the fitted ankle area. Comfort level improves with use enhancing that ''barefoot feel''.

Natural variations/markings may occur across the leather hide. Our first Traversa range is a rich chestnut brown colour with dark brown laces. Although the images may depict colour differences the product photos with the white background displays the accurate leather upper colour.

  • Why Barefoot Feel Shoes

While Common Tread was founded to help children with posture and development the advantages of barefoot-feel shoes aren't just for kids. Barefoot-feel shoes offer a natural stride, mimicking the foot's inherent movements. This enhances posture and strengthens muscles, often neglected in traditional footwear. They provide sensory feedback from the ground, improving balance and agility.

Fantastic buy

I am so happy with my purchase. The shoes came true to size, were comfortable right out the box, and the leather is amazing. Even better is the shape, some barefoot shoes look like clown shoes but these elegantly follow the curvature of my feet. Perfect for the office and the weekend.

A comfy shoe that is locally made

Thus far my options have been limited with regards to zero drop leather shoes, apart from Jim Green African Ranger and imported shoes. When it comes to leather shoes I prefer locally made as it is easier to have things mended down the line when wear and tear takes it's toll.

These shoes are great and I'm considering a second pair so that I can alternate the shoes. The wide toe box is great to allow your toes to spread and offer better balance and foot muscle development. I've been wearing zero drop shoes with wide toe boxes for more than 10 years now. The options are limited for running type shoes (work on film sets) but have been even more limited for leather "vellies".

I can HIGHLY recommend Common Tread shoes, but also, I recommend them for your children's foot development.

Great shoes

With a wide foot, I always go for wide toebox shoes, and this is just perfect for me!

Perfect Simplicity

It’s been about three weeks now. And they are honestly just getting better and better. Not trying to be too fancy but still a good look. The perfect simplicity. Strong, comfortable quality.
And that it’s made here in South Africa really just adds to the appreciation.
So thank all involved for creating the quality !
